Your donation will support:

Local Accessibility: Our goal is to provide scholarship assistance to 20 percent of our student body every year. In the past five years, BMG has provided scholarships to more than 300 students because we believe that life-saving educational courses and wilderness experiences should be accessible to all. Offering full or partial scholarships to those who could not take our courses otherwise is one way we strive to break down social and financial barriers. If you want to solely support scholarships, you can make a contribution directly to the Backcountry Fund

Immersive Education: For the past ten years, Backcountry Medical Guides has developed an exceptional approach to teaching wilderness medicine. We take pride in low student-to-teacher ratios, highly qualified and experienced instructors, and hands-on, scenario-based learning methods. The research we have seen and the feedback we have received continue to reinforce our beliefs that students’ experience and knowledge retention is significantly better with our approach.

Strong Communities: The vital skills students learn in BMG courses propagate into communities everywhere. Whether novice adventurers taking their first Wilderness First Aid class or medical professionals expanding their knowledge with our Continuing Education series, our educational offerings create safer and better-prepared communities, directly saving lives. Post-course surveys continually show that students feel—and are—more ready and willing to address wilderness emergencies after our courses.
